The Clay County Public Library blog provides a web-space for our patrons to interact with library staff. The blog is also a useful tool allowing patrons to view the latest information and announcements concerning the library and the bookmobile.
LIBRARY
The library provides access to literature from every genre, including non-fiction, romance, mystery, suspense, juvenile, young adult, & children’s easy. We also have a section dedicated to Kentucky authors and books about our wonderful commonwealth. Additionally, the library provides a genealogy room, computers with internet access, wireless internet access, audio-books in both cassette and CD formats, and movies in VHS and DVD format. For teachers, home-school parents, day-care centers, and others, we have an Early Childhood Lending Library. Also, if we don’t have what you are looking for, we may be able to get it through an Inter-Library Loan.
BOOKMOBILE
The bookmobile serves those in Clay County wishing to take advantage of the resources the Clay County Public Library offers, but also need the mobility provided by the bookmobile. The bookmobile makes regular stops at area schools, Head-Start buildings, Family Resource centers, assisted-living establishments, apartment buildings, individual residences, and communities. If you or someone you know would like to take advantage of bookmobile service, please contact our Bookmobile Librarian, Ryan Cornett, at 606.598.2617.

Is it possible to look up books available from the library/lending library/bookmobile, etc. from this website, so an early request can be placed for the bookmobile to deliver?

Hi Clay County Public Library,
Pardon the random email, but we wanted to say hi and introduce ourselves. We’re Shmoop, a new educational website for high school and college students. A bunch of us (mostly Ph.D. and Masters students from Stanford and Berkeley) have worked on this for the past year-and-change. We opened our doors recently, and we’re itching to ask you for your 2 cents, shekels, whatever.
Check out Shmoop: http://www.shmoop.com

Praise for Young Shmoop
>> “Best of the Internet” – PC Magazine, Jan. 2009
>> Librarians’ Internet Index (lii.org) picked Shmoop as a “website you can trust.” http://lii.org/cs/lii/view/item/27395
>> School Library Journal wrote a glowing review of Shmoop: http://www.schoollibraryjournal.com/blog/1340000334/post/1980037798.html
If you like Shmoop, we’d sure appreciate the help spreading the word to other librarians, teachers, and students. A link from your library’s website would be wonderfully helpful. If you’re not interested in linking to us, no worries. We’d still love to hear a piece of your mind.
Hope to see you on the site. We’ll keep the tea warm.
Thanks!
Pam
